I wish we could have some snow. im itching to plow. LOL!

WHGuy413 2,506 #31 Posted January 11, 2019 Still no snow here. I'm still not complaining. We did get some more rain. There was talk of a big storm coming this way over the weekend but now they are saying it's staying south and pushing off to sea.
Pullstart 59,718 #32 Posted January 12, 2019 Stefan, you’re proving us wrong about the vertical shaft tractors not being as versatile! That thing rocks!

To be honestly Kevin, i wonder each day, what this small buddy do Work.🤔 Sure i trust in my work, but that was complete Design in several different issues, and no experiences an all together. i never trusted in this small machine, as it is, but i learned a lot with this Project. Kathi meant - i cannot remember, when you stay that long outside in Winter without a must..😂🤔😂😂☃🚜 I changed Tractor's name to "Work Buddy" a name he definitely still earned, by tough working. i counted yesterday the FEL Shovels, filled as much as possible, we are moving together - It was 42 Shovels full. The empty shovel is 80cm x 35cm x height 27cm in size, so you can calculate youself what we moved.🙄😎 The Hydraulics was now fixed on lift 140Kilos, with me in Seat (no, i don't tell my Weight - hahaha) 😂 and actual using 17Kilo Counterweight it seems a usable choice i made and i hear hydraulics few times "beginning fight" Today i have to break ice, because yesterday at 23:00 it gets more snow as rain, but extremly wet. Now with chains it is also still more Fun, even on Ice ..as Counterweight i zipped a 17Kilo Car Battery on back ( no other Weight have) This combination is also to me pretty Awesome, yes, counterweight must be improoved, but actual all worked as it should. think further 40Kilos more on the Back will be fine. Each day i fire it up, i looked ahead any Wear... If i found leaks, check Oil on new Engine and check all mounts on FEL. check last of Belts, damages (also i have made , because moved too close to fence... 😢😇🚜😳😴😱 ) or anything else. My construction lasts, also with the new Belts (shorter) and lightly moved Hydraulicpump (3mm sideway's) no more need of the green Beltspanner. It was just 2mm between The Screw and The Belt now, it seems, that's enoung also while running.🤓 the Clutch works perfect (like in my car) and got a slip-point like in a car. 👍 Ok not a good idea for a belt clutch, but it works that way fantastic except the noise ... 😱 😂 😎 The noise the belt make was horroble while sliding, but actual the Belt lasts.😇 The Loncin Engine runs that smooth, Choke in, fire up and it works actual -12deg Celcius Was my coldest Test to fire up. I use Oil with 5W30 specs. same Engineoil as my Car get. At 2300 rpm it has the nicest sound, enough Force for FEL and enough rpm for moving in 4-th Gear with overfilled FEL. fuel consumption is also fine, at about one Tank nearly 2 Gall lasts more as 8h of hard working engine i'm fine with that. FEL works with Bio- Oil - i did that to get no Troubles even with our Farmers arround. - i can deal with it. At beginning 0degC -6deg C moving down FEL is very slow, because of viscosity of Oil, thats now sure (i test with Steelball in testtube) at a few degs over Zero it works normal. It can be warmed in two way's: 1.go with one cylinder on impacting edge and hold the lever in position for about 30sec. after that i move 2x FEL completley, than it moves normal. 2.Another option was heat the Oilfilter in returns. If i anytime gets a leak in Hydraulics, it was not harmful at all for the envoirement, just like Salad Oil.. The disadvantage was the extreme temp response on that Oil but i can deal with. I just have to be carefully if floor is enough stable while using FEL that hard. had yesterday 2 times a nearly crash, because icy floor breaks unter heavy Load. Front weight was 108 Kilo include Mounted FEL. The Weight on front Axle is sure heavy, but you can on snow turn Steeringwheel single handed. It seems the front axle wear quicker than the Rest of the Tractor. actual on Breakfast, pics after Edit: oh, just seen, Neighbour moves with his huge Tractor my "Little Mountain" Edited January 12, 2019 by Tractorhead
ebinmaine 63,133 #34 Posted January 12, 2019 It's been great to read about the trials and testing and changes you have made. Excellent build !!!
Tractorhead 8,611 #35 Posted January 12, 2019 (edited) Thanks for Flowers, before i Build, i just earned mockery about my Plans. It was a personal pleasure, that all i Planed and Realized works that Way. I'm short in Munic, at my Son in Law's Rooms to Install new Lights. Here the Snow is just about 8-10cm, not worth to talk about and it's melting. The Snow i moved was a bit more...😉 As i told, the Nighbour - a Farmer moves some of my Snow a bit further, but he has much bigger machines than i have. I hope it melts now a part, because running out of Space. Edit: If it continouse Snow that much, i got lightly troubles, where to move... a bigger Tractor is in Plan and approved by Kati...😂😎 I will pucase in spring, but if i can trust forecast it will depend Snow. I see dark Clouds comeing... It this happens, maybe i needs on June that mass of Snow will be melted. Think i have to buy a new Sledge.....😂 let's see Edited January 12, 2019 by Tractorhead

Pullstart 59,718 #37 Posted January 12, 2019 Stefan, do you have a way to duct warm air from the engine to the oil filters for winter use.... then remove it in summer months? i am thinking like a flexible hose. We have readily available 4” clothes dryer hose, etc. I agree with Eric too, reading about your hardships and overcoming has been a great read! 1
Tractorhead 8,611 #38 Posted January 12, 2019 Thanks Kevin, thats a good idea. think i will maybe try to use the exhaust for this purpose. I have allready a longer flexible light Aluminum Pipe what can eventually bend over the Filter, this shall work. But it was not a Critical issue at all. So far everything is normally usable and the viscosity problem was i.m.h.o. a luxory problem. At the moment i handle this Issue with an small dinner torch i missused.. 😎 That works very quick.

WHGuy413 2,506 #41 Posted January 13, 2019 It's cold here now. Ground finally froze. No snow in site. Giving me the opportunity to get some stuff done outside that would be buried in snow.
Tractorhead 8,611 #42 Posted January 13, 2019 (edited) Missing my Snowblade, put it aside but maybe it's hidden under the Snowwall.... but then i found another item i also missed... ... melting is urgently required, cannot use it actual... the moving on Snow was probably not my best idea - or i did it in the wrong direction....😎😂 actual a heavy wind blows, first small branches on the birch breaks... ok, now have some firewood maybe for Barbecue next week... 😎 Temp is actual on -0,9 deg C and rain changes slowly to Snow....
