peter lena 8,051 #1 Posted December 29, 2018 recently made the swap to a magnum 12 mag engine, using the available how to, break downs / schematic information , without good results. I even used the working ignition switch from the doner tractor. I have another new switch and short plug in harness coming to start all over again . it was like zero response to anything I tried. I know this can be done , just trying to find the combination, any other swappers out there , with any ideas? thank you for a reply , pete

peter lena 8,051 #3 Posted December 30, 2018 it was a 312-8 magnum, as far as I know it was the original engine. pete
midpack 804 #4 Posted December 30, 2018 I swapped an M12 into a 1980 C-175. I used the whole wiring harness and key switch. I used the light panel to set up the safety switches. Biggest problem I had was with the oil level safety must not work properly (PO had a weird wire from the solenoid to the key plug he was using as a getaround) I ended up bypassing it at the harness connection. You know how to use a voltmeter? I got a lot of help from my light probe too
peter lena 8,051 #5 Posted December 30, 2018 thank you midpack, that oil level could be it, how did you bypass it at harness connection ? I will use any idea or experience, pete
midpack 804 #6 Posted December 30, 2018 I'll have to take a look, it's been a couple years... lol Either made a jumper wire, or i might have just pulled that wire from the plug connector. Ill see if I can grab a pic for you later today
midpack 804 #7 Posted December 30, 2018 The 2 red wires went to the oil switch on mine. I just pulled one wire out and taped it off . The pic shows the engine side of the connector
