Because they are cheep. I use mine as a rear lift but it's mounted in a 2" received hitch. It has been handy to recover a dead tractor that quit running in a ditch. You will need a way cut off power to it If it is a Harbor Freight remote control. It draws 10 volts at 5 ma and will kill the battery if parked a couple of weeks. If you attach it the same as the mule drive, I don't think you could damage the attach-a-matic even if you chain it to a tree. Without doing some complicated calculations, considering all components are made from a 60,000 PSI tensile steel, I'm guessing the bolts mounting the attach-a- matic to the tractor frame are the weak link. I will throw out one caution when using these $50 2,500lb. radio controlled HF winches for lifting implements. They have some over run and if the moving part contacts an immovable object, something will break. I learned this with one I used on a 4-wheeler to lift a snow plow that contacted the frame. After snapping off several 3/8" eye bolts, I added a heavy spring to allow the winch to safely overrun. 3 3 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
JoeM 7,621 #7 Posted December 20, 2018 I made up a bracket for a 2000 lbs winch. I had it on the rear of a c120 and it worked great. I never had it on the from but it should fit. This bracket will fit a machine with no rear fuel tank. 4 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

My receiver hitch is mounted the same way with the center bar on top of the transmission andunder the fender gas tank bracket. Pullstart 59,674 #9 Posted December 27, 2018 (edited) The Attach-A-Matic holds up to tugging a trailer, I bet it would fare well pulling and lifting... the hitch is built from an old 4 way lug wrench, fits just right!
