wikket 0 #1 Posted March 22, 2009 Hello, Hope somebody can help. I pick up a C-160 8speed the other day, picture will be posted later tonight. I was looking for the manual and some wiring diagram at the Toro website, nothing came up. Model # 103859 Serial # 1027262 The search could not find anything. The C-160 have a Kohler with I think an overhead valve.
TT-(Moderator) 1,127 #2 Posted March 22, 2009 The model number is actually 1-0385 and that C-160 (1974) is the only one that used an HH-160 Tecumseh OHV engine. (that DOES NOT make it super rare, highly collectible, or worth more than any other C series tractor though - we'll just say it's more of an "oops" tractor )

TT-(Moderator) 1,127 #4 Posted March 22, 2009 "Oops" in a sense that Wheel Horse would try different things to try to appeal to the consumers and sometimes their ideas didn't go over very well -- not "oops", it was a mistake. The Tecumseh-powered tractors rarely sold as good as the Kohler-powered models so there are just fewer out there. The tractor is virtually identical to the Kohler-powered model with the exception of the engine. I personally don't have as much against a Tecumseh engine as some guys do, but still prefer the user-friendliness of a Kohler. :omg:
Teddy da Bear 11 #5 Posted March 22, 2009 Nice score! Perhaps it has been repowered with a kohler? Let us know...

Buzz 502 #8 Posted March 22, 2009 Not much in the way of downloadable manuals from Toro, only the transmission manual. You can order the manuals from them. The Toro site can be confusing so here's a direct link. Use your model number and none for the serial number: https://lookup3.toro.com/request/request.cfm Here's the big block Tecumseh manual that should come in handy. I got it off MyTractorForum. Fair trade, I've given some manuals to them http://www.mytractorforum.com/images/refer...o18castiron.pdf
