Any issues swapping M12 into 314h?

Recommended Posts

Just wanting to get this hydro running for the winter and wanted to see if there would be issues in wiring swapping the M12 from my 312-8 chassis into my 314h chassis?

Similar years.

Same engine type, so should be the same correct?

Will I have to switch any of the wiring? Should just be plug and play, no?

Should be plug and play assuming your M12 has a voltage regulator and is not one of the 3 amp unregulated systems..WH went cheap on some models/years and opted for the unregulated system.

Small box with three contacts upper front of blower housing is regulator. (Circled) If there is just a plate covering the hole it is a 3 amp system  Did headlights work with the engine not running on the donor tractor, if they did regulator system.  if they didn't 3 amp unregulated

Plug and play.  I used an m10 in place of the m14 on the 314-H i sold at the end of last winter.  So long as the charging system is the same and the black connector plugs right in, youre good to go.  The 12 horse will be just fine on there.

Since the engines will be out may be a good time to service the low oil switches. Click on the fuzzy picture.
