How do I order more of these clips?

I don't know what these are called or where I could find them. Could someone lead me in the right direction?

They clamp to the sheet metal and hold wires for things such as lights

I could not see the detail in the clips, no problem, I usually protect my wiring with pneumatic tubing , that totally eliminates chafing and wear. good pick up by rMaynard, your answers are on this site, pete

There is a difference between cheep and frugal.
I tell people about me and my dear wife, "I'm frugal, she's cheap!"

(Quite a problem for a husband to have, huh?  :handgestures-thumbupright: )

Most of the imported clips that are made of steel will easily rust out inside the package - the black oxide or silver/gold zinc coatings are not a truly hard oxide and it holds moisture and will rust at the drop of a hat. Also, they are not made of a harder spring steel, so they don't stay on the frame metal very well at all - a little vibration and they loosen up and fall off. I've tried several brands and any made from stainless are far better - the ones from the older US manufacturers that supply trailer parts are all quite good and will last. Be careful how they fit the harness/wires - cheap ones can have a nasty burr on the inside from when they were punched out prior to being formed - it will cut through the insulation in short order and ruin your wiring. The mesh type harness sleeves are a great idea if it's more than just a couple of wires as well.

I do prefer to run separate grounds to all lamps/accessories - it prevents having to rely on the chassis ground on a piece of equipment that moves/vibrates constantly.

Aah, those clips..... ya blow out your finger nail or cut yourself trying to remove them. Or work around them for that matter! Ya think they'd have some sort of rubberized protection for the wires that run through them to prevent shorts! Anybody find a better option?

There are bolt-on eyelets that have a rubber coating or insert in them.

You could also do as stated by Peter above and put them inside of another piece of tubing.

Another thing I have done is to put a piece of heat shrink tubing at the contact point to give it another layer of protection.

On harnesses that were too large to fit into the clips with a protective sleeve, I have added dual wall shrink boot w/adhesive anywhere there is questionable contact against the wiring's insulation. Best option, really, in those areas is to use harness tape, not regular electrical tape or even self-adhering silicon repair wrap. Just be aware, if you have to remove that silicon wrap - you'll cuss the idiot that used the stuff.

Tesa harness tape

Stainless harness clamps

Here's the better grade of split - braided loom -

split braided loom

Del City also carries all of this stuff and more, albeit a bit higher priced at times.
