Hello All and Happy Thanksgiving,

I voluntered to work my P/T job at Cabelas as my son was working too and we will have Turkey day later as a family... so... the Cabelas resteraunt folks put dinner together for all the employees working. In all the chaos they left one of the turkeys in the oven. My question is whether its done? LMAO... we all got a good laugh out of it.

Tony

I think they do that so something goes wrong and it makes you buy a new stove! :deadhorse:

I do mine in my outdoor Pizza Oven which I built around 5 yrs ago always an event and lots of fun Turkey is always moist and GREAT! Cornbread is baking in the back along with some super carmelized sweet potatoes...… which will knock your ears-off!

Sorry I'm late.     But here are a few gobblers I have encountered.    Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to all.

How many made it to the table in time for Thanksgiving dinner, @Ed Kennell?

They all made it to the table, but not at Thanksgiving.    Wild turkey are lean and for the most part dark meat.    To keep everyone happy on Thanksgiving, I always roast one of those fat pen  raised  birds that are pumped full of steroids and butter.

All the wild turkey I harvest are skinned and deboned to inspect for any imbedded shot and feathers.    Then they are usually slow cooked in a crock pot and then sliced or chopped for stir fry, sandwiches, and turkey salad.
