dells68 7,494 #1 Posted November 21, 2018 I just got a sweet little k91 from @Chris G and knew it had a little too much crank end play. Anybody have a part number or source for crank shims for this little guy? I’m finding them for the larger k series, but not the k91. Thanks for your help guys!
Tuneup 1,412 #2 Posted November 21, 2018 I know I'm thinking like my teen years experiences but how about a pair of scissors and a cereal box?
dells68 7,494 #3 Posted November 21, 2018 I don’t think cardboard would hold up to the pressures and would contaminate the oil in the long run. I know you used to be able to buy shims to adjust the end play. I wonder if they are available any longer? Anybody have any sources or any extras they would like to sell? Little engine runs great with good compression, I’d just like to be able to take up some of the play in the crank.
Sarge 3,462 #4 Posted November 23, 2018 Get the dimensions of the original equipment shims - any machine shop should be able to source some in the correct size range/thickness. Sarge
