Ever See an RJ Deck Like This?

Here is the deck that came with my RJ58.  Has anyone seen a deck shell shaped and enclosed like this before?

I guess you that could be home made, but I bet it was manufactured. It shares some commonalities with my Speedex 1631’s belly mower, but there are differences. The picture below is from the CL ad when I bought it...... it all looks much nicer now.

It looks like a early speedex chain driven deck shell. That someone swapped the rj deck spindles and so on to.

Thanks, guys.  I guess I will scrap the shell and keep the rest of the parts.

seems like put alot of effort into making that, it would have been easier just to find another deck.

What it has going for it is interesting character, patina, and history in spades. 

Have you hooked it up, does it actually cut grass as it currently sits?
