Has any of you ever made or seen a Wheelhorse on front skis for winter use?

Kick A>> paddle tires. I f you could mount them on a tractor.

You definitely can. I've seen it done. For what reason I do not remember now.

I don't remember if they were on a standard 12 inch rim or if somebody had put Ford or Jeep rims on the tractor to get the larger size.

Eric might have to modify the fenders? And put spacers on the hubs?

I just found a snowmobile front end on CL and picked it up just a day ago. After skinning it, I decided not to use the complete axle just the skis. l posted this just hours ago on my tread. Thanks to Eric I found my way over here. My thought is to weld a pipe on the leaf hanger and secure the spindle with a double pin. No tracks on this baby

Sorry, I can't post a video until the snowfall is significate in NE Ohio. Worse yet, the temp may reach 50 degrees this Saturday. I am really anxious to record my death ride so that the anticipation doesn't kill anyone. I have the tires back on and until the conditions are right she will be waiting in the shed for that fateful day. Let's hope it's soon while I still have my health care insurance.

That’s exactly what popped in to my head when I saw it!

Man, I remember when I was a kid.... waiting all year for those Christmas shows to come on..... would usually see them, but sure would be mad when we missed them!

Razorback, I hope my lug tires are able to get me to a speed that is just a wee bit faster than what I have seen tractors with tracks travel at. I also hope for some snow roostertails at almost any speed.

Wow, up until about 40 seconds of that clip I thought to myself “Those turf tires do pretty good in the snow!”

I thought it would be too easy and for the first time ever, it WAS.! Now, where is the white stuff?

OK now Giddyap, the eyes of the forum are upon you.   You just GOT to post some photos, no, post some videos, when you get that rig out in the snow!

Any tips, tricks, help or hints on fitting the skis to the axles...?

Nice work.  Can't wait to see it running.

Eric..... Balls in your court!  Solon, OH is in the Lake Erie snow belt, but I know Maine gets snow for 11 1/2 months of the year!

Cheers guys!

Probably perform better without the wheelie bars slowing you down.

That's a good thought, but when I looked at my 2nd ride tracks in the front yard only the lugs were imprinted in the snow. Don't tell anyone, but I forgot to open the choke.

It has been done a couple years ago actually. I helped some friends turn a b-80 into an "s-80". Had vinylguy make some decals. It has skis on the front and atv tracks on the rear. We will be getting it out of storage very soon. I will get pics when we do
