WildmanC120 613 #1 Posted November 8, 2018 Probably going to put the carlisle tru power ags on the back of this. Cannot decide on 8.5 or 10.5" width. Looking to see everyone's setup. Also, what will look good in the front? This will be the machine running my snowblower and probably mowing a few acres a week come the summer.
The Tuul Crib 7,331 #2 Posted November 8, 2018 Here is one of my tractors are used some 8.50 x 12 works good for me
Elkskin's mower junkyard 1,117 #3 Posted November 8, 2018 23x8.50x12 Carlisle power tracs on the Sears compact 8e and 23x10.50x12 Goodyear (same tread has hi-runs and other brands) on the other. I don't run ags on wheel horses except 701 which are original ones. The power tracs do the best out of all I tried. I do have bkt trentchers on a craftsman size 23x10.50x12. They do alright 1
Elkskin's mower junkyard 1,117 #4 Posted November 8, 2018 I do have set of b.f. Goodrich 6-12 ags for 552 wheel horse. It does ok but they vibrate the entire tractor while getting grip
ebinmaine 62,332 #5 Posted November 8, 2018 10.5 AG's rear 20 x 8 x 8 turfs front All 4 liquid filled. 3
WVHillbilly520H 10,369 #6 Posted November 8, 2018 I like the OTR LAWN TRAC R1s, very close to size stated and didn't need chains running the 2stage last year, you can get tri-ribs in 16x6.50-8 but they are kinda pricey, I'm planning on a set of the same OTRs in 16x7.50-8 for the front of my blower tractor, good luck, Jeff. 2
Tankman 3,514 #7 Posted November 8, 2018 Like the ag's but, don't need 'em much nowadays. Turfs and chains work well when pushing wet white cold junque. Do use ag's on my Allis. Always set up with a mid mount grader. http://www.millertire.com/categories/lawn-garden-tires/
peter lena 7,979 #8 Posted November 8, 2018 those 8.50 tires work good for me, being narrower they tend to get thru snow easier , and work very well with chains. the wider tires would be more likely give you a traction issue, because they are a softer foot print. recently picked up tires at wal mart as well at t/s good pricing and free to store shipping at both. I also used these stores , because the tires were not " crushed flat " in transport. that's important , trying to inflate a pancaked tire is not a good time. I also use , FLUID FILM as a tire lubricant , because of its rust stopping abilities inside the rim. good luck with your choice, pete
71_Bronco 1,072 #9 Posted November 8, 2018 (edited) Not ags like you're talking about, but I went with Kenda Terra Trac's for my Bronco 14. These are 23x10.5-12 on 7" wide wheels. Also, i like having the fronts match, so the fronts will be the same. I went with these cause they are more aggressive than turfs, but not as much as ags Edited November 8, 2018 by 71_Bronco 4
ACman 7,423 #10 Posted November 8, 2018 Those ORT,s @WVHillbilly520H have came stock on my kubota BX2230 and are a great tire . AlexR 435 #15 Posted November 8, 2018 (edited) Deestone ag rear tires 23x10.5-12 people are right when they tell you these run small on width mine are in reality maybe a hair over 8 1/2 inches wide. I wanted more or less stock width so worked out great for me. Fronts are deestone 4.00x8 triribs Best rear photo I could find. Sparky-(Admin) 19,280 #19 Posted November 9, 2018 My vote is for the Carlisle All Trails for best all around traction ( and they are dang cool ). Mine are 23/10.5's. The ags are 23/10.5's on 8.5" wide rims. 2

WildmanC120 613 #21 Posted November 10, 2018 Ended up ordering Tru powers in 8.5 width. The price was right and the width will fit my rims I already have. Plus should work well at that width since I will be using them in the snow this year. Now I just gotta figure out what I want on the front.

Turfs with a single wrap-around chain for snow/ ice steering traction? Run without the chain for 3 season usage on grass.

Im torn between a rib tire and a turf tire. I think the ribs go well with the AGs and would make steering lighter. The wide turfs I think look a little better. The struggle is real haha.
ohiofarmer 3,155 #25 Posted November 12, 2018 (edited) There is a mini-bike supply store in my area that has the 12 inch wheel size 4 ply rated ATV 4 wheeler tires for $80.00 a set..of two...
