Looks like a good time.   I'm sure many of us would be willing to bring our horses up to help.

Sounds like fun to me.

Bring a tractor and a chainsaw and we'll have us a tree pulling, trail making party.

Sooooo neat to see these older threads.

Back then we had 2 Horses running and driving.

My Patriot Horse and Trina's Pony.

Shortly after we got the restoration of Cinnamon Horse C160 done.

Now we've done more than  half a dozen restorations of various depths.

Good job, Eric! You can't underestimate the power of these tractors. I've pulled 12+"  trees (untrimmed) out of the woods with my GT 1800 Workhorse.. These things are a beast!!

And that was back when I had the 8 HP that was no where near as heavy as my current beasts!!!

Full throttle and 2nd gear?  3rd gear?

Next time I go to work in my woods in Ky.,  I've got a leaner to take care of.  About 10" diameter on the bottom, and a good 35 to 40 feet long - hung wayyyy up at the top.  Don't have a Horse in Ky. yet, so I'm planning on using a neighboring tree, a chain and a come along.

For me on our rough terrain it's usually about 3/4 throttle max and 2nd gear.

The only time I even use 3rd is in the flat upper dooryard between the house and barn.
