tie pod boots

Recommended Posts

the rubber boots on my tie rods are gone. i have replaced these boots in the past by using baby bottle nipples cut to fit. i plan on making new adjustable rods in the future. project is a 1985 310-8 that was on the way to a scrap yard after setting in the weather fo five years, past projects are bolens tube frame(shipped to texas),cub cadet (shipped to north carolina) ,schwinn phathom (now resting in a friend's bedroom) and numerous golf carts. the largest project was a 12' diameter wooden water wheel for a brother-in-law. i try to stay busy!

why not just replace them with heim joints,  found them to be the easy /strong fitting for moveable joints. have them on clutch rod, pto rod ,steering rods and snow plow lever and steering quadrant. pete

This is an awesome idea. I was thinking about a way to upgrade the linkage on my Bronco and this will be just the ticket. Thanks!
