JERSEYHAWG / Glenn 4,487 #1 Posted October 7, 2018 (edited) Hi guys, wanted to stop in and say hello to everyone. Its been VERY very busy for me all summer. We finally moved and are just about settled. When we listed out old home, it sold in one day. The buyer wanted to close in 3 weeks and 2 days. Man did the get the ball moving. I am sure you know whats thats like, unreal. TON of things to do. A ton of things to pack, throw away and move. On top of all that, I bought myself something to tinker with. A 1946 CJ-2A. Always wanted one. I have been here reading during the week, just not posting. Down to only one wheel horse I feel naked. I sure miss some of those tractors. I hope all of you have been well and I wont be far. I can see another pony coming to the stable one day. Its differant on this tiny lot, but very relaxing being across from the beach. No lawn in the front, I put 18 tons of stone in. I will be staying in touch. Sorry for being absent so much. Your a good group. Heres a picture or 2. bc.gold 3,399 #2 Posted October 7, 2018 (edited) I see that your new home has a widow's walk, nice touch for a water front property. Nice Willys, I once had a 56 wagon that I stuffed a small block ford 221 cid V8 into the Willeys had the ford flathead as an option at one time so finding OEM adaptors to keep the original running gear was easy at the time. ztnoo 2,298 #13 Posted October 8, 2018 How high is the first floor above Mean High Tide, and what is the overall height of the structure? Part of the reason I ask, is that I've worked on housing in the Florida Keys, and tidal surge and total heights above Mean High Tide are always a huge consideration when building that close to open ocean.

Per code the required finished first floor is supposed to be 11 feet, I went an extra 5 ft.. So I am about 6 foot above flood hgt. The overall hgt is 49 ft. top of ridge. Its built to all the latest code requirements for being by the water, and than some. During hurricane Sandy there was a bit better than 4 foot of water on the property.
