Other than mounting holes... I think I’m alright?

Hey Kev,

last version i would preferr,

go for it!

By the Way, did you plan to use it productive?

I would think about mounting points for a hydraulic cylinder, to Lift things rear.

just an idea

I am building this out of .090 steel, not a bad idea Stefan!

Yap Kev, i see in your pic, used Material seems to be stable.

Actually i also thinkin about a Rear Lift for a standard Triangle rail Mount, like the small iseki's or kubotas has.

IMHO this can be very useful tool because it is standardized.

i.eg. for simply lift added weight or add some Attachements like a plow.

That's the reason i asking for.

Please do share picture examples of the lifts, I haven’t seen an Iseki?

Amen brother!  I work in a cramped 1 car garage and Kev, it looks like you’ve got the TajMahal of garages!  Loving this build man.  Emory wants me to redo his workhorse for Christmas, why don’t you build him a cool creation!!

Reading back a bit, looks like you done just fine With that Work Horse, Dell!  :handgestures-thumbupright:

I wonder, could a 3 point lift like that be powered via linkage (rock shaft?) from the bottom hydraulic lift lever?  I haven’t looked at too many before and Mrs. Pullstart’s Allis Chalmers has an unconventional snap coupler lift.

:handgestures-thumbupright:       Given the desire to do it and your skills and tools I know you could do it.              :wwp:

I just mentioned, because i think you have allready a Hydro Gear

and be so prepared for hydraulic applications.

Things you maybe additional need was:

a hydraulic valve 2Way with pass thru and a double action cylinder.

The rest will be simple( but stable) mechanics.

i'm conform with @953 nut you are able to make it happen. 👍

I see several additional benefits for.

Well, well...

Time to lay out the clearance and mounting holes, I s’pose.

I don’t have a sheet metal brake capable of attacking this job, so I’ve been daydreaming about my next step.

the red lines indicate a brake, the blue lines will be mating surfaces once complete.  Any sheet metal advice fellas?  I contemplate scoring the brake lines part way with a ball end mill on the Bridgeport, but I imagine there’s any easier way?  .090” stock.  I doubt I can clamp it to a bench and hand bend it uniformly.

I indicated in my “critical” bend line, then laid out the holes.  It worked out pretty good!  While it’s on the table I’ll buzz the top edges of the box flush and square.  Probably not the most ideal way to skin this cat, but it’ll be accurate, I hope!  Enough for tonight, see ya!

I have cut slightly into the metal with a cutoff wheel to where it would bend, make the bend, tack the corners and then go back and fill the cut with weld. As long as it is not a load critical piece I don’t think it would be a problem.

I made up a box break of sorts to use in my 20 ton press. Not too professional, but it gets the job done. The upper piece in the photo has 1/2" pipe to provide a rounded bend, but a piece of angel iron cut to size for your internal bend would give a good sharp bend.

Richard I was thinking of using some vertical force to do the bending, but believe it or not I don’t have an arbor press.  It’s one of my bucket list tool items.  I thought about using some other hydraulic force, like the in floor hoist, but decided that’s too risky!  I like the design of your brake though... maybe some day I’ll build one too!

It’s taking more setup than I expected, but I’m already into it!

I’ll take this time to point out that I DO have a new trans filter for this, once fab work is finished up I’ll clean things up and change the oil.
