New synolid won't start

I am ready for a beer run. Brand new synolid while this restored tractor sits in storage. Today I started this tractor, then it just stop. I check with my test lamp. No fire to the coil. No fire any were. I cleaned and tighten battery cables, all grounded connections, even  put a new eng switch. Nothing. 

Could a new synolid go bad?

This tractor I have owned new in 1979. C141 hydro. All restored.

Yes, but it will not stop your engine from running once it has started.

With the key in the "ON" position do you have 12 Volts to the "+" post on the coil?

No voltage to the coil.    Do you have 12V at the ignition switch  terminal B ?

Check your ammeter connections. Loose or broken wires will kill it dead.

Attach the tester ground lead to the negative battery post when testing.

Check both posts on the ammeter. There is a shut resistor in an ammeter between the posts that carries the major current and it can fail. If you don't have power on both posts install both wires on the same terminal - does not matter which one. Ammeter has failed.

Then with the key in the RUN position see if you have power at the coil (+) post.

If you do turn key to START and check the bare metal body of the carb for power. If you have power there check the ground cable between the engine mounting plate and the tractor frame. Good chance it is broken.
