We do loves us a nice open fire up here too.

Large area of the back yard is our gathering spot.

26' diameter circle of 3/4" stone. Old steel truck rim surrounded by stone wall stones for the fire. Semi circle stone wall on the high side.

Well done sir.

Have fun!!!!

Wife and I are going to enjoy this small campfire this evening.  Nice cool weather here in Western PA.

Hope you have a great night around your fire. :greetings-clappingyellow:

Ok several things...

I have A LOT more than "one rock" out of place.

:ROTF:

Thank you for taking care of it.

You're right... It should actually be closer to the wall but still on the ground. It's a stepping stone. My honey is in process of weeding.

I’ll have to snag a pic of the basket once it’s in! Right now it’s just wood.

Must be nice. Hot enough down here I feel like I’m in a fire. Hopefully in a couple weeks it will start getting nice out. Looks like a nice time of relaxing.👍

We’ve had heavy rain yet again this evening. Muggy and hot today about 90 with humidity in the 65% range.

Cold front moving in tomorrow and I’m hoping I’ll get some fire pit time myself! Thanks for the pics guys!

Dry time lasted long enough for my time at the car show (about half way between mine and @Machineguy Bob's homes), got back hoping to finish my mowing only to get rained out once again, between chasing kids and taking care of elderly parents ain't much time for the fire pit this year.

We had a nice one last night also!  Stayed up watching the stars too until 10:30 and had some great chili for dinner!  Fall has arrived!

Years ago I bought my wife a fire pit thingy. We live in the village so I'm not as fortunate as some of you. I have one of the biggest lots in town but am still surrounded by houses. A neighbor 2 houses away owns a convenience store and I bought some firewood from there for the first night. I get the fire going in the backyard. We have our living room window open and have a police scanner on in there. We hear it go off about a complaint of a nuisance smoke smell in the area. Sure enough, the guy I bought the wood from called the cops!

That’s just not cool at all! Some people are just miserable souls that’ll never be happy and try to bring everyone else down too. That or they’re just control freaks or worse, both! :banana-explosion:

We have a loop hole for that problem in our village. Cooking fires are legal at any time sooo... all I do is keep a package of hot dogs & a stick out by my fire.:handgestures-thumbupright: I'm no master at lighting fires so some times it can take 3 or 4 hrs & quite a few beverages to get just the right temp for cooking hot dogs.
