953 nut 51,019 #2 Posted September 1, 2018 Is the fuel tank shut off open all the way? Are you running ethanol free gas? It sounds like the fuel system has some crud deposited in it that is starving the engine. Ethanol breaks down and forms nasty little clumps of goo. If this is the case you will want to drain the fuel tank, remove it for cleaning if needed, replace the fuel lines and filter and rebuild the carburetor. This site will tell you where ethanol free gas can be found in your area. https://www.pure-gas.org/
squonk 38,569 #3 Posted September 1, 2018 Does it sputter to a stop (fuel)) or just shut off like you turned the key off (electrical)?
N3PUY 1,031 #4 Posted September 1, 2018 My guess is the body to engine wiring connector. The contact for the ignition is not making good contact. Look at a wiring diagram and see which wire it is and tighten the female contact in the connector .... do it to all of them.

Then Permatex 22058 Dielectric Tune-Up Grease. Stops rust and corrosion on electrical connections, Permatex is available in small 3-ounce tubes. A little dab'll do ya. 1
