Is the fuel tank shut off open all the way?

Are you running ethanol free gas? It sounds like the fuel system has some crud deposited in it that is starving the engine.

Ethanol breaks down and forms nasty little clumps of goo. If this is the case you will want to drain the fuel tank, remove it for cleaning if needed, replace the fuel lines and filter and rebuild the carburetor.

This site will tell you where ethanol free gas can be found in your area.           https://www.pure-gas.org/

Does it sputter to a stop (fuel)) or just shut off like you turned the key off (electrical)?

My guess is the body to engine wiring connector.  The contact for the ignition is not making good contact.  Look at a wiring diagram and see which wire it is and tighten the female contact in the connector .... do it to all of them.

Periodically, PM (preventative maintenance) I clean electric connections.

Then Permatex 22058 Dielectric Tune-Up Grease. :handgestures-thumbupright:

Stops rust and corrosion on electrical connections, Permatex is available in small 3-ounce tubes. A little dab'll do ya. :ROTF:

after the new ing.switch the problem still existed.did some more research&read about the stater & trigger switch.pulled the flywheel.it was so packed with dirt you could barely see the stater.cleaned everything up & hoping this fixes the issue.it even charges better.
