WHwest8597 85 #1 Posted July 31, 2018 Was 1997 the last year for the Classic body style hydrostatic models? From what I can tell Toro went to the cheaper 200 series H and xi series in 1998. Looking for my first Hydro. I'm guessing 314H and 312H were the most popular H series 1985 to 1997. I'm looking for a Hydro to make grass cutting easier if someone else is cutting grass other than me. I would love a xi with a dump from seat bagger.
dcrage 621 #2 Posted July 31, 2018 For that time frame I think there are more 520-Hs out there than other automatic WHs. Just from reading these forums I get the feeling there are more 520s than any other 300-400-500 series tractors. I assume that is a factor of 20+ years of people selectively saving the top end WH from that era.
RJR49 121 #3 Posted August 1, 2018 I would beg you to consider a C-160 Hydro. I've owned quite a few Wheel Horses and for my money, and many others, it's the best one ever made. A big plus is the snow blower capability. The C-161 is very similar but they hid the hoses with sheet metal so it's a little harder to work on.
