Wheels and tires

My new to me 310-8 came with 23 x 8.5-12 Dico brand tires on it. I want to change to ag tires. 9.5 seems to be more standard. Does this have the wrong tires on it, or can multiple sizes be mounted on these wheels? Next question is if I can change the size of the tire how big can I go?

23 X 8,5-12 would be the standard size for a 310, there will be no problem going to a 9.5 on the same rims. With wider rims you could go to 24 X 12-12 if you want. Anything taller than 24" may be a problem with fender clearance unless you raise the fender.

The best ag tires you can get are the firestone 23 8.5 12 tires. The next best are probably Carlisle or deestone.

I had my eyes on the deestone 6 plys. They fit my budget. I'll probably stick with the original size.

As with many road tires, the size will vary by brand.

 

Carlisle tends to be pretty much right on size but Deestones are well known to run Very Small.

Check with a few others but I think you'll find with that brand you can use a 23 x 10.50 x 12.

The Dico brand he has now run a bit small. My 310-8 has them and if you roll a Carlisle up next to it you see the difference.

Incidentally I believe some 310-8 came with 22 -7.50 x12s  from factory

Looks like those Deestones are measured using the "new math"

 

23 - 10.5 = potatoes
