Kasweld 7 #1 Posted May 6, 2018 Hi all, new to the site and hope you can assist me, I’ve purchased a 312-8 today to do up, only thing is the wiring is worse than a crows nest! I’ve put a charged battery on and nothing, no lights noises or anything, the ignition switch has been re-wired and there is non connected wires all over the place, Im just wondering if there is a good diagram to follow as I plan to re-wire it, I shall get all the relevant numbers tomorrow to correctly identify it yours hopefully, kasweld
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 10,496 #2 Posted May 6, 2018 Welcome to the forum. Numbers off the tractor ID decal possibly under the left side of the seat and/or All the numbers off the engine data decal including the serial number With those we should be able to identify the correct wiring diagram. There are a few. Garry

gwest_ca-(File Mod) 10,496 #8 Posted May 7, 2018 The Kohler serial number indicates the engine was made in 1987 so there is a chance the tractor is a 1988 model E1-12K801. Click on the pictures Garry 1

midpack 804 #12 Posted May 7, 2018 I've seen worse... i have a C-175 with a factory harness, all black wires... with little numbers on each wire instead of color coded... lol
pacer 3,159 #13 Posted May 8, 2018 On my 414-8, which is probably similar to yours, after spending 15-20 minutes looking at that horrible mess with the nightmare of safety switches, etc I quickly decided to rip it all out and just go back with the basics - to start, run and stop! Though I did wire in the headlights.... From that point on things went real smooooth!
