Steve I have had many lock up trannys. I just use a  large drill or if the engine runs use kerosene this helps. run it for a while. it will be fine.

Nice haul.

I like the idea of the fork lift being used a a work platform.

Thanks guys.. Looks like a 1967. I pulled the motor and started to tear apart. She is soaking upside down with marvel mystery oil in the bore trying to get it freed. A buddy is gonna help get the motor going for me but figured I would try to get some of the dirty work done ahead of time for him.

So I spent some time today getting the RJ torn down. I then cleaned all the parts to remove oil etc in prep for sand blasting. I am going to need to tear into the rear end. I have a rebuilt 58' sitting on the shelf but I cannot put that in as this is a 59' and the date code the rear shows 59'.

I was able to pull carb and soak it, flush the fuel tank and the usual other stuff to get the economy running. It runs great and looks to have new valves. No smoke nor noise. I messed around with the D series rims and they fit but i needed to pull the fenders.

Swapped out the seat for a shorter seat and spring. I put the original on my 1965 Economy. Needs front tires and more paint clean up and buff. I am going to try and do some pulling with it as well. Will need to make a hitch point and add some wheels off the back as a wheelie bar

:wicked:  With the kohler engine and those tires that thing will fling dirt across the whole pulling track.

Watch this video Steve. You won't need anything fancy to pull with it! :)

I think I would've had time to take a shower and grab breakfast between the start and the spin out of that pull!  :coffee:

However, it goes to show you when a tractor is set up well for power and traction with a competent driver at the wheel--a class win is the result!

So I decided to NOT restore the 59' RJ. I took it apart completely and cleaned all parts. I also did some sanding. The top of the hood basically had no paint left so I had to feather in some color match using a gun. I then wet sanded and buffed it. Cleared most of the frame and steering parts. I still have to get hood right before I clear it. Coming along nice imo.

On the Economy I modified the fenders to fit fairly tight over tires. I still need to mount them but pictures show pretty much where they will land. I love the look on both.

Update on the 857. It did not go to a new home like anticipated. I am willing to sell it if anyone is interested. I am willing to sell as is but would like to get it running and then offer it up in the classified section. I did start to wet sand and buff it and it looks pretty darn good.

So today I was able to get the fenders welded up. I have been hearing from the locals that I need to get a mig and I think they are right...

Today I was able to modify hitch to make it a solid mount to meet the local pulling club specifications. Not all that pretty but this one is on a budget...
