520-HC getting a workout

Recommended Posts

cafoose

This is the first snowstorm that I was able to use my 520-HC for the entire cleanup :banana-rock:last time I had a module going out and it was too hard to start. Now it works great! :happy-bouncyyellow::happy-partydance:It made it easy to move the junk the snowplows left at the end of the driveways. Still not finished yet just came in for a break.

@cafoose, excellent with that Berco 2stage, looks like the snow was wet and heavy like here in VA today, unfortunately my TORO version started clogging the chute today so switched over to the eMax and rear blade, last weekend visiting my parents in WV I spotted this maybe I'll stop in and ask if it's maybe forsale, Jeff.

The chute clogged maybe two or three times at the snowplow banks by the road but for the most part did great! I even had to lower the deflector because I started throwing snow at the neighbors!

referring to the video your wife took.. They both look capable but the way yours was throwing snow was wild, plus you're were you were moving into it at a good clip.

Yeah there's something about an Onan screaming for vengeance chucking snow, but I would love to see @cafoose one of those Berco 2stage blowers live in action (not the video wasn't good), I hear they are easier to install than the Toro version.

@WVHillbilly520H Are you thinking of buying the deluxe shed next to the blower or the tractor hiding behind the wheeled out house ?

I didn't have anyone around to video mine so I had to do it myself and it was difficult to drive and tape at the same time. I raised the deflector as high as it goes and was putting snow on the roof of the neighbor's two story house  :laughing-rolling:I had to quit because I broke the PTO belt :(Does anyone know what size belt it takes?  It was about time to stop anyway it was 2:30 am. I normally work until 1:30 am anyway so I'm used to being up late.

The TORO version takes a 5/8"x 64.5" belt I don't have any idea on the BERCO. I was lucky my was home and didn't complain about using her phone as a video camera, I understand I tried to video from inside the cab myself not very well.

@cafoose, do you still have the broken one? most of it intact? If so try taking it along to your belt supplier (TSC NAPA) and see if they can match something up? Another attempt to self video yesterday, also does this belt routing look at all similar to yours? there's the 64.5" I suppose a 64" or 65" would work as well, I run the factory Toro belt for now, Jeff.

That looks closer to the single stage, I believe they were 5/8x69" and got them at TSC.Screenshot_20170420-180318.png.accaef977831af947d0bb04e351d99bd.png

WHX??

Those are good belts.... get a couple both sides of what you think you need.....they have no qualms about taking them back.
