Why buy an older tractor? (wheel horse in particular)

Cause this one was backed into and not that hard I might add. Not bashing brands.

I had a stamped frame Huskee do the same thing - we had a custom race shop so it got a sub frame installed - that one will never bend again, lol...it was from using the blade a but, uh, aggressively. None of the newer stamped sheet metal crap can keep up - son in law's 1067 came out of the scrap pile, aside from the obvious scratches it survived being tossed on there by the grappling hook - we had it running that afternoon and it still runs today just fine. Same with his new-looking 48" deck he found at the same place the next week , but they had crushed the C series it was mounted under with the magnet a little too far to save it - looked better than that Husqvarna in the picture though....lol.

I did 2 scrap loads on Friday. I always snoop for stuff. No horses yet but, I did find a nice older Stanley USA crow bar and folded corner Jackson wheelbarrow. Those went into the truck.

Ive heard of the newer tractors mowing uneven due to the operato getting off the tractor on the same side too many times and bending the unibody

A lawnmower and a garden tractor are not related in any way, shape or form...depends on your needs . a good lawnmower should last 6-7 years before you throw it away.. a wheel horse garden tractor should last 60 plus years with some maintenance. Oh, and it also mows grass..:handgestures-thumbupright:

When my brother up north ask me what to get because his new Crapsmens fell apart less than a month he got his money back. What ever you do not get one from a big box store. Buy from a Dealer. He is very proud of his purchase. But I looked at it can not believe how cheap they make these things today. Just about every thing plastic. Sorry I like my CAST IRON FRAME AND TRANNY AND ENGINE.      That is all serviceable.

5 lug nut 12" wheels always get my attention and for the right price I always have room for another one.  Didn't sat I'd pay much or drive all that far, but still...
