1968 wheel horse good buy or not

Recommended Posts

Im looking at a wheel horse tomorrow for a restoration project. I'm told it is a 1968 with a 12 hp kohler it only has a tiller attachment to go with it. im told it runs good. asking price is 375 i talked him down to 225 with out seeing it and im not committed to that price. it was listed in december so it has been around awhile so im guessing thats why he is willing to take less. my question is if all is running is 225 a good price. thanks

From my point of view a running 12 HP :wh: would be a great buy, the tiller is a bonus!

Agreed.

If it runs the engine by itself is almost worth that price.

Yup, like all the above experts say.....any :wh:with a running 12HP Kohler is worth $225.   With a working tiller, twice that.

I ended up buying the tractor for 225.00 it fired right up but needs a little tweaking on the carb.  it ended up being a 1973  model # 1.0355.  it definitely needs some seals replaced in the trans.   trans # 5091  i need the part number for the imput shaft , break shaft  and axle if any any one can help.   I have the part numbers for a 5086 trans are they the same????   any help is appreciated  thanks

All I can say is WOW!!!  What a deal!  I've seen tillers listed in my part of VA for that price.  Well done!

The tines look like they've seen better days, but the tiller that I bought without that lift arm mechanism and similar condition tines for $225 proves that you done just got yourself a free tractor!  And a refreshing beverage ta boot!
