Petes Horse 20 #1 Posted January 16, 2018 Hello everyone, While checking parts I noticed the cam lobes for one cylinder are offset. If the cylinders fire 180 deg apart why wouldn't the cam lobes line up? I'm missing something. Any ideas? Thanks, Pete The two lobes are for the intakes. Exhaust has the same offset. Sarge 3,462 #2 Posted January 17, 2018 I believe this was done to time the two cylinders slightly apart from firing dead-on 180* from each other to prevent a violent vibration - I've seen that in other twin opposed engine layouts. Not completely sure here, but that's my theory. Sarge
Petes Horse 20 #3 Posted January 17, 2018 That would make sense, kind of like not marching in step over a bridge. Thanks, been wondering about this for a while. Pete
