What have you done to your Wheel Horse today?

Recommended Posts

Maxwell-8

So i ended up meeting @bizon, I am gone help him with some trans issues and i am maybe gone buy a tractor from him.

He is a good dude, and has a stout 416-8.

It was nice to meet a other Wheel Horse fan.

What I almost did to my Wheel Horse today. I decided to put the hood back on the 656, just so it would be complete again. One problem. NO HOOD ! It's gone, as in not here. I have no idea when, or how it disappeared. If I had to guess, I would say a scrapper was driving by, saw it in my driveway, and now it's gone. I guess I am on the hunt for another hood. :(

That's terrible Gregor. If someone has a pic of a 656 I'll look to see if I have one in my hood collection or see if you can spot one here that would work. I think that one next to the blackhood and 3rd from the left are for a short frame.

If I have one in the pile it's yours for the shipping.

I'll bet there's a half dozen closer though.

I am not familiar with them enough to know what will fit, and what won't. If anyone can confirm that one of those hoods will fit, I will gladly buy it from you.

Measure the tops of the hoods?

Logic would be it's the shorter of the two lengths.

@Horse Newbie, around here $750-$1800 depends how many attachments and hours overall general condition and what the "market" is.   There's one nearby "reconditioned" been asking $1000 since Sept still for sale and if think it only has a mowing deck with it.

Time of year matters too (asking is usually higher in winter with fewer units on the market--come spring prices fall as people want to trade up or can't start their old faithful for mowing), otherwise in NY Metro area prices are in the same range as @WVHillbilly520H mentioned. A meticulously kept '94 or '95 with lots of implements and < 800 hours would be at the high end. Right now there is a fair '89 with plow only asking $975.

I have a 42 inch dozer blade, rototiller, and 48 inch side discharge deck as far as implements.

In this condition if all works, the Tracta for it‘s own can be sold for 800-1000 because it‘s a real 520.

Everybody will try to drop the price, that‘s common on trading, eyeballed from here the Seat is actually the only what can be used

to drop the price, all other looks in the pict in good condition.

So here on my Side of the Big Pond it will be dealed at about 1300-1500 €.

If you buy it directly in USA, you must import it by yourself.

Cost for such Action will go at 1000-1500 on Top of the Tracta.

and Attachments on top.

656 is a shortie. Long hoods came out in 67. Looks like @WHX24 prolly has one. Guys with the used hoods Check the inside of the hood where the front and top panels are welded. Lots of hidden rust happens there.

@Gregor I'll dig out that hood and see what it looks like and if it will fit. Perhaps we can relay it to the Dino who can relay it close to you. Shipping would be a bear unless some of the other guys have ideas. I'll take no money for it as most of those hoods I got for free off auction piles. We'll work somthing out.

Not today tho I get seat time with ladies in waiting plus a Packer game to get ready for! :greetings-clappingyellow:

Scrap value is prolly 25 cents. wonder if someone in your area has a horse in need of a hood or wanted the ornament if it had one!
