I understand that some of the Kohler carbs can be adapted on and it's been known to make a good difference in running quality.

If this other carb doesn't work, that's what i'll do next. My 12hp kohler runs like a champ.

Definitely understandable. Fine dust settles on everything really well.

I haven't messed with the carburetor on a Tecumseh engine but I understand that some of the Kohler carbs can be adapted on and it's been known to make a good difference in running quality.

@pullstart - didn't you make this conversion on one of your machines?

Did some more cart work today, hauling 5 boxes of books down to the lake house.  More mulching of leaves along the way.  Rained last night, knocking , more leaves to the ground.  Will have to mulch or tow the sweeper around in the near future.

Gripe for today:  I filled up yesterday at $1.78 per gallon.  Drove by the gas station this evening and noticed the price was up to $2.15 per gallon.  Anybody understand what drives these large price changes?  Sure wish I did.

I must have missed the dip in price, but at least you didn’t wait to fill up!

Seems to be a local thing.  South of M57, gas prices are frequently 10 to 20 cents higher.

yep, I did that with “Jane”, my Commando 6 Tecky powered rig.  A worn out old K-161 carb runs great on it!

More progress today. Have about 45 mins after work to weld some mounting plates for the motor on the frame. Im by no means an experienced welder. Im practicing and learning as i go. They are no where near good welds but for this little engine they should hold. And if they dont, no big deal i can fix it and make it stronger as i learn more. These 3/16x3 inch flat stock will give me plenty of room to shift the engine side to side and forward and back as i fine tune it for my final installation. I am going to try my best to get it perfect and have only 4 holes rather than a slotted plate for adjustment.

The light is a Generator Indicator light and will go out if the generator is working. The replacement light is Cole-Hersee  PL 20 RC.

This diagram will help.

:confusion-confused:              It probably will work. I have LED lights that I added to one of my tractors and the headlight bar was polarity sensitive but the rears didn't seem to mater. The idea with the generator light is that when the generator is working the light goes out because the voltage on both sides is about equal so there is little or no electrical current flowing through the bulb. The minimal amount of current required by an LED may prevent it from going out.         :scratchead:                 Give it a try and let us know how it comes out.

Thanks, 2 plates! One for the front 2 holes and one for the rear 2. Could have done one big plate but this 3 inch flat stock was most easily accessible. Also no expert on engine swapping. Ive pulled and replaced dozens, but never one that isnt supposed to be in the machine. Going smooth so far. Good project to learn on with such a small machine and simple pullstart engine. Impressed with the new 125 welder from harbor freight though, weighs only 14 pounds and is about the size of a 6 pack!

Hard to tell from the description but based on comments where it was used This is NOT the correct light.  If there is any continuity between either of the terminals and the housing it is wrong.  This one will work.  note that the lens is somewhat smaller than the original if you are a rivet counter...Cole Hersee Pilot Light PL-20-RC000-BX

Built a rear hitch today.  I spent a career in the oilfield industry where the moto is, "when in doubt go he_ _ for stout".

i try to always keep my powder dry when it comes to gas prices. We build up kroger fuel points and on occasion they run specials of gift cards for 4 times the normal amount. when you go to the Kroger fuel price app, they give you the lowest prices in the state. If local prices are pretty close to the bottom statewide, you have at the most, a bit more than one day to cash in.  So locally, they hit $1.81 and we had a dollar off a gallon. I bought the maximim of 35 gallons for $28.70

Please start your own thread on this subject. Having in the midst of a general thread with over 7,000 posts is not beneficial to you and will not be helpful to people searching the site for information about S/G indicator lights.
