One caught fire last season. all the golfclubs in the surrounding lockers were damaged by the heat. Of some drivers noting was left. I would recommend checking the electrolyte level once a month or two, as I’m pretty sure any charger constantly hooked up will tend to “dry out” the battery. Non maintenance batteries don’t seem to be an issue. As far as homeowners insurance, the ones I use ( Battery Tender brand ) is UL laboratory tested and rated, so I don’t see where it would be any more dangerous than a coffee pot… in fact I would bet coffee pots have burned more houses down than battery chargers. 3 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

It was my dad’s for about 5 years but then I got it running for him so he gave it to me because he was going scrap it long ago. I’m torn on which I like better. But transmission and fuel problems caused a serious delay on the first drive. ebinmaine 63,115 #13675 Posted November 25, 2021 Working on the C160 Automatic today. I needed to move the seat back as much as possible for extra Bear 🐻 space. We don't use seat springs. Took them off and sold them last week. The rear seat spring pan mount holes at the hinge point are cracked some. I decided to attempt bolting the 1.5" structural square tubing in through the 4 new seat holes and also 4 other holes to hold the square tubing to the pan better. 4 short bolts go through the interior of the tubing and the pan. 4 long bolts go all the way through the pan, tubing and into the seat. Certainly much more sturdy and I've gained several inches of room. Next is to repair or replace the bracket where the latch catches.
