Pulled the 4 speed trans out of the Waldomobile . No pictures , too much nasty ole grease and brown weld . Glad I have an impact gun .

Worked a bit more on my new to me plow. Also learned somthing today, newer 300 style wheel horses need a differnt style plow angle lever then the straight ones I seem to only find. So simple solution, cut up the straight lever and widen it to fit and work. Seems to do the job probably going to weld some reinforcement angles on it and my only problem I have left is making the plow pin squeeze release work. Can't seem to find any good photos of a newer 300 series plow set up to get a good idea. Was thinking eye bolts and steel cable? Thoughts ideas and photos welcome.

I used eye bolts and cable and turnbuckle to route mine inside the cab.

@OldWorkHorse that thing looks slick!  Have you run those tires in the snow before?  You may find yourself wanting to spin the front tires around backwards for improved steering in the slick stuff.  :handgestures-thumbupright:

I have run it in the snow a few years now, only difference is i have a blower on it so front is cemented to the ground with the loaded tires and weights. 1st time running a plow tho so I might end up trying this idea out! Never knew if was added benefit of it or just people liked the look. Thanks for the input!

I don’t like the look at all.  It made a huge difference my first winter playing around with Poppy the big tired 552 :handgestures-thumbupright:

Haha I'm not a huge fan of the look myself when I see it makes me feel like somthing is off. But I do like usefulness so I think this winter I'll swap them around and see how they do!

There is a little spring that rifles the bolt forward.

That spring needs a little roll pin to apply pressure.

The roll pin over time will shear off.

Steve you DEFINITELY want to flip those tires.

I tried both directions on Cinnamon Horse C160 when I first mounted up a set of 6-12s  for usage with the Mackissic chipper.

The difference in turning capability was HUGE.

YMMV.

After tapping the roll pin on the high/low shifter on the 8 speed trans spray some primer on parts of the  Waldomobile , hooked up the angle grinder with the wire wheel and ground on some panels and foot rests . Too much brown weld every where. @squonk  I don't know where you picked up the Waldomobile but the PO spray all kinds of CR*P everywhere and may coats in some places. Must have been emptying raddle cans . Forgot how a angle grinder with a wire wheel throws brown weld all over the operator.

Decided to add diamond plate onto the foot boards, and get them mocked up before painting.

Used the GT-1848 with trailer to haul an assortment of chain saws, loppers, weed whacker with chain saw attachment, chains and nylon pull strap, etc. out to the front of the dam on our lake. The locusts and other trees have gotten out of hand over the last few years. Daughter's boyfriend came out to help with clearing it. Got poked by a locust thorn in the side of my leg and it's swollen - I think they have some venom in them... Have the dam about 80% cleared now, except the willows along the water that the wife wants left there for privacy.  I had a good time wading through the wild raspberry plants in shorts (dumb, but I didn't feel like wearing jeans...).  Legs now look like some very angsty art project with red lines criss-crossing all over. Hoping I didn't run over any of those locusts with the tractor - will see if the tires keep holding air over the next few days.  But I just ordered new rubber for the front anyway, and the new Ags on the back still have pretty deep lugs, so I'm not too worried.  I'm gonna have several nice bonfires in a few weeks, if anyone wants to come out and roast marshmallows.
