What have you done to your Wheel Horse today?

Got the (new-to-me/used/salvage yard) battery in Cinnamon Horse C160-8.

Changed out the worn top post adapters for nice fresh color coded ones.

Added some furniture bottom felt to make up bracket holder spacing.

@peter lena would be happy here.

Found some chafing on the wiring.

Moved some wires. Added/subtracted red zip ties.

Fixed!

Dependable old girl started right up after setting since last (Oct/Nov??).

No preservatives. No additives.

NON ethanol fuel.

Drove the beast to the outdoor workshop building.  Pushed a 417A out for a minute. Dragged the Mckissick chipper shredder out and up onto the C160 with the help of a BBT.

Moved some "stuff".

Pushed the 417A back in to the front of the building.

Messed about with the belt and pulley for the Mckissick but it needs some bracket bolts replaced first.

Outta time...

Maybe a silly question but, what would a rake like this be used for? Leaves or gravel paths..??

We will be using on the gravel driveway and moving soil around in the horse paddock.

I have that same exact rake, found it in the scrap metal pile at the dump. It was like brand new, the tines had about a half inch of paint worn off of them. It really works well. I still can’t believe someone would throw that out 🤔

Nice score!

Changed over from the plow to the mower deck on Saturday. Of course then it snows again!

She also got the ripper spike put on.

I’d like to see a video of that underway and doing its thing.

Be more than happy to.

We used it a bit with the other hitch and the tab style hitch still on.

The tab hitch was somewhat in the way.

The ripper mount square is maybe 1.5" instead of the standard 2".  It actually fits inside of a ball mount.

((WTH??))

I cut a short section off the end of a ball mount and redrilled that. Used the short section as an adapter. It isn't perfect but it'll do for now.

It was impressive to see how well the ripper worked even not being set right.

I'll be looking forward to seeing just how deep we can get in our rock mix with it.

Oh no.

Those are 12" trailer wheels with 6-12 tires.

They're very likely going on Cinnamon Horse C160 on the FRONT soon.

I have the Mckissick chipper on that tractor and I need all the ground clearance I can get.

Really can't take a lick of credit for this one. It's a full-on BBT project.

This tractor is Trina's second full restoration.

She did ALL the disassembly, cleaning, painting, nearly all the reassembly. All I did was rebuild the transmission and make up the wiring harness.

Here's the build thread.

Yesterday I used my 416 to tow a neighbors Deere back to my house for mouse nest removal and starter gear free up.

Today I helped a friend get his newly acquired C165 started.  The machine had sat outside for a very long time.  We used my cheater box to get it fired up.  It ran surprisingly well.  It was thrilling to hear that K341 fire up

Gave the 867 a little workout today with the dozer blade. The end of my driveway would rattle your teeth when pulling onto the road. It leveled up nice. Might last a week...

Don't know why most people use washed stone, it never stays in place. I always get crusher run it does a lot better but still moves around some in sharp turns.

When I had a gravel driveway, the paper carrier and the mailman were in competition to see who could displace the most stone.  I would place 4" to 6" stones in their rut, but that didn't faze them.

What have I done to my Wheel Horse today? Well I recently put narrow wheel and tri-ribs on her and she steers easier and better now. Oh, and I broke my lift cable. Hmmm, gotta try and rig something up temporarily until I can get a cable that isn't priced at half a hondo!!!! BTW why isn't this a rod/ bar instead of a cable?

A old Ford brake cable will work and I don't think you will break it.

Great to hear. Thank you. Do you know from what year/ model I would look for that brake cable?

60''s 70's hand brake cable. The ends will have a ball on them. Not sure about the later models.

I use garage door cables available at any hardware store for a couple bucks.   One end will have a crimped loop.   Cut to length and use a small cable clamp to make the loop on the cut end.    I also use old garage door springs to make lift assist springs.

A solid rod would not work due to the twisted path from the lift lever to the rear hitch  and the vertical movement  of the two ends.
