pulled the head and cleaned it up and put on a new head gasket.

I should really do that on a few motors. Gives a guy a chance to glass the head while it's off and yes piece of mind knowing it is torqued properly.

Got my goodies from @Wheel Horse 3D. Waiting for the weather to get warmer before I glue the steering wheel cap in.

The Garden Committee used the 867 pigpen tractor to move some sand from one side of the house to the other so they could til it in for the carrots.

Then they got an old garden hose we inherited from @Stepney Spenser, layed it out, and drilled it right full o holes.

Watering system.

Heckovan idea.

I've had thoughts of buying a retired tow truck to move equipment.

Well after work I pulled the head off the 875. Valves open and close but the piston doesn't move. Back to the drawing board.

Received the wheels from @pullstart! So happy to get the tires on them and get going! E50F418B-E687-4857-BF91-6D9D8D514A1E.jpeg.f35ccd6b27e6d785a83984a430202c5e.jpeg

Starting degreasing and cleaning up wheels whis a wire brush. Picked up some paint so I can get new tires mounted.

I'll tell you, trying to get a copious amount of fix a flat and bead sealer off wheels is a pain.

I can't believe all the different types of primer. Sandable primer, self etching primer, bonding primer, filler primer, all purpose primer. The list goes on and on. Is there really much difference in any of it?

Yes there is.

If you're looking for a great finish on a tractor or whatever else it's best to use the proper base layer.

The tractors we've painted here so far have been workers. They get scratches. Character marks.

And My Paint Department knows where to buy more paint.

It's all good.

Rust-Oleum 2X Red primer under as a base layer for Rust-Oleum 2X paint.

Takes a few weeks to fully cute but it lasts well.

Do you have to sand off the rust, or is it possible to paint over it?

On previous auto projects I have used a rust converter with good results.

I was hoping that primer worked similarly. I'm planning on sanding tomorrow. I just knocked the heavy stuff off with the drill and wire wheel.

What really needs to be done is sand blasting and powder coating.

Always remove the rust. ALWAYS.

Here in the North we deal with rust as a way of life.

You can either remove all the rust or wait a year or two then.... Well yeah.... Remove all the rust.

There are quite a few ways to remove or neutralize it.

Trina and I normally use wire brushes on various machines.

I wouldn't even get two steps in the back door carrying that wheel! :scared-eek:
