Front hitch 8-5551

Recommended Posts

I recently just purchased a 8-5551 hitch for my 1257. Do I have to trim the hood bracket on the bottom?

On all 5 of my :wh:s I don’t see any sort of trimming, and installing one on my 520 didn’t require anything it just went right on

Hope it helps               Nice cat 🐈

Hmm.... I saw I'm the manual that the sides had to be trimmed on the earlier long frames like mine I didn't know if there was another way.

Bolted on to an Electro and a Charger and Lawn Ranger without mods.  Have a problem with another charger. Wheel horse didn't center the hood hinge when they welded it to the frame,  Welder must have had a hang over

Nice Tuxedo

Yes you are suppose to cut the hood brackets per the instructions that came with it.

My next question I'm prolly just not seeing it but from the pic above where does that threaded angled rod go?

That is a replacement lift rod needed if your tractor ddin't have one It goes between the implement lift rock shaft and whatever mower deck, or  plow  you are lifting.

Ahh... that makes more sense now. I was looking all over the diagram for the front hitch thinking where does this go. Thank you for clearing that up.
