Awesome!  Love the history on these engines!  We have several friends that still find these and pull them out of the woods and restore them and get them running again!  That set up is in good shape, have seen a lot worse come back from the dead

We too enjoy camping and GT shows. We bought a "Toy Hauler" to incorporate both hobbies.

We both are also "Ham" radio operators and volunteer with or local EMA "Storm Watchers"!

I was on the VFD for 31 years and "retired" from that in 2012. For those 31 years, that pretty much was my life!

Thanks for being a volunteer fireman!  I would love to have a toy hauler but that is down the road!

I too have been a Volunteer Firefighter for over 29 years. Although I no longer am an interior firemen I've switched to truck operator,or as some call chauffeur. I've considered "retiring" at the 30 year mark but once this kind of thing is in your blood it's kinda hard to give up. My wife and daughter are active in the F.D. Ladies Auxiliary. The fire department is really an extension of our family that I'm very proud to be a member of.

My brother, daughter, EX wife and step-daughter were all on the VFD over the years with me!

I know what you are saying about a "family extension"!

Cool, never thought of old fishing tackle as collectible but everything is,  we also have some old tools. Pretty much anything old and farm related we are interested in.

Other  interests... deer and turkey hunting, taxidermy,  fishing, crabbing, camping, playing pinochle, and collecting Wild Turkey whiskey bottles, old tools, old fishing lures and reels.

The number one interest has to be these guys.

Other interests in the collect/repair/restore have to be Honda Motorcycles of the older variety. Kinda like Wheel Horses, when you have to think about it to remember how many you have, it is more of an obsession than a hobby. I even have a rolling frame CB750 that I just might put a primitive belt drive on to ride around the farm

A couple of months ago, a buddy of mine was out buying a bike and he found a second year of production Gold Wing and fronted the purchase for me after calling me to see if i wanted it.  This bike is more complicated than the old twins that I am used to, but if all goes as planned, I will have a nice motorcycle for short money. Besides that, the other seven bikes need company

It is more fun to work on a clean bike.so up on the lift she goes. The only place the bike leaked was out the valve covers, so thery are off at present.Timing belts are needing replaced just because of age so they do not break and wreck the engine.. Transmission is down under and is exposed to get at the water pump getting new bearings and seals. Then a little fine sanding and buffing of the aluminum front timing belt covers. Pretty nice looking bike for $300. Project goal of $750 to $1000, but you never know how these things will go.5a5df2d14c526_cleanup007.JPG.5a5d372715df9b72eb11ccabcd2eb890.JPG

I seem to remember a bike that [Sqonk, I think] built and ran around the big show  a few years back. Maybe there are some ideas there that I could use. When you get right down to it, a full sized motorcycle with 18 inch wheels should not have a great deal of rolling resistance. It should not be too difficult to make it go ten or fifteen MPH with a six to thirteen horsepower engine, as I have both as spares.

It'll go faster than that with one of these.

Fun Topic! It is always interesting to see what you guys are into besides WH’s.  Some of these pics you may have seen before floating around the forum but this is a good place to combine them. 4E807C49-8265-4006-AA02-A24E013572C5.jpeg.e3daf14cfb9ca3dac6e9c3b4ee547d53.jpeg

I’d say one of my favorite things to do right now is to spend as much time with these guys as I can...

Ministering to these guys (my local church TeenGroup) comes in next. I sincerely desire to make a positive change in their lives today thru eternity.

I have enjoyed the sport of Cowboy Action Shooting for a decade and am honored to now be able to shoot with my oldest!

Cars have been a passion of mine since before I remember.  I enjoy going to car shows with dad, here he won a trophy for best in class with his 1967 GTO that we restored together in 2004-06.

It’s fun to hang together with family and friends and get to see some classic vehicles.

This is a terrible selfie but it is me plowing on GhostRider.  I really enjoy turning earth but conditions have to be just right for it to really be fun.  This was one of those occasions.

I enjoy building houses or I wouldn’t do it for a living.  Pretty much any kind of woodworking and mechanical things that I can get my hands on. I guess you could say that I just plain enjoy living the life that God has given me to live.  There are challenging days like the tranny going out in the wife’s van last night but even in that, there is much to be thankful...

My other interests are probably too many to list, however besides family, the one that takes a hold of my life is my profession which is also my hobby and the main passion in my life. Somehow everything is interwoven with it and many of the other interests such as tool collecting emanate from if. Here is some of it:

Wheelhorses are actually a sort of therapy for me. It is good to have something totally different to go to when things get a bit on the crazy side. And, they do get on the crazy side often when your profession and your main hobby are the same . On top of that work is at home so there never is a line between one and the other. Many times when things are hectic whether by the volume or difficulty, I just stop everything and go work on a horse or just ride it. Luckily for the wheelhorse hobby things do get crazy often.Oops, I just realized by what I just said that I came up with another excuse to buy more horses.:D
