Model 416 hydro

My daughter has found a MODEL 416 HYDRO which does not start, The lady who is selling it is a widow lady and it has not used since her husband died it appears to be in good shape with little wear. She is asking $200 for it. Any advice on if it is worth taking a shot at repairing it. I'm am old guy with some experience with small engines.

I would think $200 is a very good price for a 416 H. You can always depend on the folks here at RS to help you with any issues you may encounter, plus we have a large amount of info in the manuals section.

:WRS:        The 416-H was made from 1990 to 1997 and presuming it was running well at the time the previous owner passed away there shouldn't be any problem putting it back to work. First thing you will need to do is replace the fuel line and filter and use some Seafoam in ethanol free gas( https://www.pure-gas.org/) to give it a fresh start. ethanol does a lot of harm to small engines.

Go get it!

Do the things 953 Nut said. Also, the fuel pump on those Onans are prone to plugging due to old stale gas.I had a 416H with a tall chute blower..Wish I had kept it.VERY capable machine. For 200 bucks,it would be in my barn already.

:text-welcomeconfetti: to the :rs:@cougarpitman.    Old Guys are always welcomed.

Like the boys above say,     Go get it ASAP.       If it were 200 mile closer to me, I would be on the road.      :auto-car: :auto-swerve:

It may just need a battery.

I would say ignition mod could be bad if it’s turning over and getting gas but not starting. Common with the onan.

Great deal. Go get it.
