diamondred 63 #1 Posted November 26, 2017 I there a list available of the Wheel Horse Kohlers that have the balance gears, and the one's that didn't?
KC9KAS 4,741 #2 Posted November 26, 2017 I don't know, but my 16 hp did have them, not it doesn't!
MalMac 1,328 #3 Posted December 2, 2017 This is what I have found, but there again there is a exception to every rule. 10hp-16hp K series and Magnum’s had balance gears, in some cases the 10hp came without them. I believe the Wheel Horse spec for the 10hp K’s we’re without. Now another variance was some of the 16’s and possibly the 14’s came with 3 instead of the standard 2. I have never seen this in person. This is not writ in stone. There were so many motors made and to individual specs that there could be all kinds of different versions out there. This is just a basic knowledge that I have researched.
Lee1977 6,178 #4 Posted December 2, 2017 You can remove them from a K-series with little or no difference in vibration. They can not be removed from the Magnum series as they all used the same weight crank shaft and the balance gears are there to counter the lighter weight crank. The 16 HP Magnums have three balance gears. Check " Brian Millers site for more information on Balance Gears".
