russellmc301 600 #1 Posted October 16, 2017 when i turn the key on my c-160 to start it all the does it click. any ideas on what could be wrong, i read some previous threads and it seems like a sign of a bad solenoid but wasn't sure. if i remember right one day it just started doing it and i parked it since (3-4 mounths)

953 nut 51,680 #3 Posted October 16, 2017 The first thing to do with any electrical problem is have the battery load tested and clean and tighten ALL electrical connections including grounds.
rmaynard 14,897 #4 Posted October 16, 2017 Take a jumper cable and bypass the solenoid. Go directly from the battery to the lug on the starter. If the starter runs, then you have either a bad cable (or connection) from the battery to the solenoid, a bad solenoid, or a bad cable (or connection) from the solenoid to the starter. I had that problem on my 1977 B-100. It turned out to be a bad end on the cable from the solenoid to the starter.
