Is the cub going to be a worker?   or is it just a toy?   B)

Probably both.  I need to get some implements for it, as for now it's just a toy plus a tow vehicle for my trailers.

"Sounds like a justified purchase happened to me ! " ... said the guy who has no implements and ONLY uses his B80 to tow trailers around the acreage...

Agreed !

I find it somewhat easier to move several hundred pounds of stone or logs letting the Kohler do the work.

Yes, 1947 was the first year of the Cub.  This one has been converted over to 12V already, so that's a plus.  If you're looking for one, try the Vine on farmallcub.com website.  http://www.farmallcub.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=223  You might find one close to your area.

Was there any reason for the offset on the cub other than maybe the steering?

It, and the Farmall A and the Farmall B, were designed for cultivating, so the offset was so the operator could have a better view of what he was cultivating, doing, etc.  Ford also made a cultivating, or offset tractor, the 541, I believe.  If I'm not mistaken, a few other brands made offset tractors also, mainly in the '40s and '50s.

I have noticed too the land tire while plowing a furrow seems to be the first one to spin.  Maybe along with a line of sight, offsetting the weight to the left helps with that issue right off the showroom floor?
