Hi no other parts as yet but I'm sure i will have fun finding them.

Not sure if it's the right engine as mount holes don't line up

So lots to find out

:WRS: Going buy the model number I came up with it being a 1974 Raider 10.( If I'm wrong on that some body please correct me ) Nothing wrong with having the 14hp, no such thing as too much power.

Looks like it will be a great project.

I'm assuming you're talking about the two holes on the right side of the oil pan that are hanging over the frame. No worries. That's normal. The right side has two bolts coming up from under the frame. :)

Yeah that's what i was on about. See straight away you guys are great!!!. Ok so engine is off and I'm going to start messing about getting it going. My dad has a 62 cub cadet so he going to be helping me from time to time but for me this is first time tractor and I'm a newbie so watch out for the stupid questions lol

Does it make any difference that this is a Belgium model??

The Raider name was last used in 1972 for the North American market.

It continued at the Belgium plant for a few more years.

Ok this is all starting to make a little more sense now so thanks for the input so far. Little deflated as I've gone from what i thought was a 16 down to an 8 hp engine but nevertheless still a very proud owner. I shall keep everyone updated.. well those of you that are interested. Thanks

Your engine looks to be at least 10hp.

The manuals listed for this 1974 model are actually the 1973 manuals for 1973 North American models

We also did not have a 10hp 4-speed on this side of the pond in 1973 or 1974.

Belgium did build a Raider 10 8-speed model 1-0390 and a Raider 14 model 1-0380 but do not know what transmission this one had. In North America it was a 16hp C-160 8-speed.

Oh ok. I will have to work it out. I will check the engine for any details that will help me identify it. Lol a bit confusing i guess for a newbie. I will get there tho. Thanks

I guessing 8 speed has 2 leavers.

Yes the 8-speed has a high and low range shifter.  R-1-2-3 =4 x2 =8

When the high-low first came out it was called a 6-speed. Then they discover if you included reverse the 8 sounded better than 6.

953 nut

:WRS:    To figure out the engine size you can start by counting the head bolts;

7 & 8 HP will have seven head bolts

10, 12 & 14 HP will have nine head bolts

16 HP will have ten head bolts

I got 9 head head bolts. I'm going through the engine in a bit more detail today. Good news is the engine turns and has some decent compression
