Fun Engineer 859 #3 Posted November 19, 2016 Most chrome polish has a protectant in it. I would also suggest you place a thick piece of plastic or visqueen down to keep moisture from coming up through the floor. I've seen this done with old cars and it really works well.
clueless 2,898 #4 Posted November 19, 2016 Quick-Glo chrome cleaner and polish. Been around for years, guy and his daughter own the operation now, supposedly make the stuff at home. They now offer 3 different formulas, the original, is a little heavy with pumas but works great on rusty chrome. The two newer formulas are less aggressive, they all polish and wax. Quick-Glo, check em out.

RMCIII 838 #12 Posted December 7, 2016 All great suggestions. Another option is to just use a light film of white lithium grease on the chrome. Let it stay on it the entire winter, then wipe off in spring, go over the chrome then, with either Never Dul or Mother Chrome cleaner. I used it all the time on my chrome rims of my 72 SS Nova that would be stored in our barn. Never once did the chrome start to pit or dull. RMC
JackC 616 #13 Posted December 7, 2016 I have a zip up storage bag with desiccant pouches for storing a car. It protects the entire vehicle from bugs, mice and moisture / mold/ mildew. I have found mice nests on several occasions in my engines and air cleaners that were stored over the winter. On one tractor they ate some of the foam molding from the seat. The bags not only protect from moisture they protect from the critters. They do make the bags for smaller vehicles. http://www.autoanything.com/car-covers/69A4263A0A0.aspx
