Standard piston?

Recommended Posts

Took the piston out of my '72 K241S Kohler and it is stamped with an "A". Is this a standard piston?

Most oversize pistons are marked as such, however, best bet is to measure

Have nothing to measure with at the moment. The A would equal what size? .010 over?

I believe the A stands for the style of piston. Not the size. But it will probably be standard if it doesn't have any other stamps on it.

Over sized pistons will be stamped with the over size on the top. Example .010, .020, .030 ect. Not sure what the A means, it could just be a factory mark.
