BOBTHEBOPPER 3 #1 Posted October 28, 2016 I have many parts for the old K series kohler engines and would like to know if the 14 HP and 12 HP K series crankshafts are interchangeable. All the rod and crank journals are the same size, the stroke is the same. I am not sure if the crank and piston assembly would be out of balance using the 14 with the 12 HP piston in a 12 HP block. Thanks for any help.

Hossenfeffa 49 #4 Posted October 29, 2016 Although the 12 hp and 14 hp crankshafts are the same dimensionally, the counter weights on the 12 hp crank are ground flat on the bottom, the 14 hp crankshafts are not. .If you use a 14 hp crank with a 12 hp bore, or visa versa, you will end up with a nice vibrator
