I'll start off with my own hometown dealer was Lincoln Radiator, Lincoln IL.

20171029_110020.jpg

It was owned by Daris Knauer who was a family friend.  I've spent countless hours talking with him about old stuff.  He opened in 1959, and had the very first RJ-58 that he sold back in his  showroom for many, many years.  It was traded in several years after purchase and he never resold it.  He had an amazing back room full of parts and older tractors.  There are probably a lot of old timers here who will recognize the name and have bought parts from Lincoln Radiator.  He sold out his inventory in 2008, coincidentally to someone who eventually became a member here lincolnpower38. That shop has since closed.

I couldn't pass up the opportunity to own the sign when it came up on auction.  It's really faded, it hung on the west side of a brick building for about 40 years.  Who else owns one of their hometown dealer's signs?

The closest dealer to me is Lincoln rental and service in Rockford, Illinois. I'm about an our away.

So it hasn't moved very far from where it was sold, about 117 miles.  And since it was sold @1108 hours.  The PO said it got a new piston, rings and a rod, some 10 years ago. He didn't really say how long it had been sitting in that hedgerow.

Bud Herbert Motors on Spring Grove Avenue in Cincinnati Ohio. (I loved to go there as a small boy in 1965 with my dad). He bought our 1962 Suburban there.

With the demise of the Wheel Horse brand, they moved to the 'burbs, went to the "darkside" and now sell John Deere equipment in Harrison, Ohio

I do not see my local dealer listed...Meetinghouse Garage still open. My Dad (RIP) and I bought our first WH there in around '79 or '80 ('Used 75 B80 $1000) . Bought the used '92 520H for $500.

They do not list WH on there site just Toro , but they still sell parts ...$$$$

Brian and his Dad (Alvin RIP) have always been helpful with knowledge over the years.

Razorback

I'll verify, but I think my local Straight's Lawn & Garden in Springdale, AR was a WH dealer, still in business and going strong.

This patina RJ is from Rasor and West in Miami, Oklahoma.  It had to be one of the first ones they sold as it is a 1958 RJ with no date code on the center transmission case.

This tractor and six Wheel Horse garden implements were used by one man for fifty years!   I bought the tractor from his neighbor !
