No idea if this place is still around.  I am in the process of restoring my horse and plan to leave the dealer tag on.

My Dad was a dealer from the late 1960's until Mid 80's until Toro bought the company.  This sticker is on a C-125 that he originally sold and I recently travelled back to WNY to buy from that first owner when I heard it was for sale.  He still own's his shop (at 85 years old), but only runs it part time with my older brother handling any parts or repair requests.  There's still a far amount of NOS parts collecting dust along with some decent used WH items that I'm sure someone could use, but I don't live in the area and I haven't been able to encourage my brother to catalog or post for sale.  And yes, the phone is still the same number!

Just picked up a tractor over the weekend and it had these 3 dealer stickers on it.  The dealer is listed back on post #107 but there wasn't any pics of the stickers and I know how much everyone loves pictures so here they are.                        Stewart

That would be the old Chandler Equipment building, they were one of the first dealers and right around the corner from the old factory.

That's it, the big Chandler sign faces are gone, but the Lawn-Boy & Toro faces are still there, the Chandler faces have been replaced with white Lexan. :(

Still cool though, made my day! :)

Pat_In_Denver submitted a post about his dad's shop-Grand Island  N.Y.  My dadbought a new 1974 C-100 Eight Speed from him in 1975. He still has the tractor!  I looked for  the orginal sales receipt but couldn't find it. I did dig up these two items.

I'll start off with my own hometown dealer was Lincoln Radiator, Lincoln IL.

sign1.jpg

It was owned by Daris Knauer who was a family friend.  I've spent countless hours talking with him about old stuff.  He opened in 1959, and had the very first RJ-58 that he sold back in his  showroom for many, many years.  It was traded in several years after purchase and he never resold it.  He had an amazing back room full of parts and older tractors.  There are probably a lot of old timers here who will recognize the name and have bought parts from Lincoln Radiator.  He sold out his inventory in 2008, coincidentally to someone who eventually became a member here lincolnpower38!

I couldn't pass up the opportunity to own the sign when it came up on auction.  It's really faded, it hung facing west on a brick building for about 40 years.  Who else owns one of their hometown dealer's signs?

I know of 2 more you can add to the Illinois list: Wright Equipment Company / Farmington IL and McKinley Chevrolet / Avon IL

Here are a few dealers in NH that sold Wheelhorse

Granz power equipment , Salem NH sold wheelhorse since the sixties . They are still in business and i have bought some parts there.

West Side Lawn Mower . Front St , Manchester NH  sold wheelhorse  early seventies . We bought the last new wheelhorse he sold , a 1973 10-8 speed with snowblower , 36" mower , 42" dozer blade , wheel weights ,chains and the optional light kit. He then sold Ariens and Poulan until he retired and closed the business in the late eighties. The building still looks the same.

A to Z power equipment. Intersection of Hanover St and Candia Rd , Manchester NH. They took over the Wheelhorse dealership from West side lawn mower in 1974. We bought our tiller , sweeper and aerator there. They had quite an inventory. I remember looking at the all new D-250 in 1975 or 6. Its been a long time so i don't remember the year. They went out of business around 1977.

Mountain View Nursery. Goffstown NH. They were in Business for two years and never had anything on display , but i got the loader you see in my avitar there.

This one was on the latest purchase, a 312-8. It appears that they are still in business, according to Google.
