I have a gt-14 that is currently stuck in the field.  I'd like to tow it back to the barn but I can't seem to find the tow valve. I have looked where the decal says it should be. ( see picture) but my hydrostatic doesn't look like that. The hydro says it's a sundstand 90-1136. It seems like this hydro is not original to this wheel horse. ( I could be wrong)  does anyone know where the tow valve is on this transmission and if it is original to the gt-14

Does it have a valve with a rolled pin? If it does the longest part of the pin needs to point toward the rear.

Anyone know if this is the original pump or if it has been replaced?

so a bigger overview picture that may help. i had a C120 that just shut down one time when plowing 2 houses down the road with ag tires and wheel weights so i had a neighbor pull me back up the road with both rear tires locked up on black top because i have never been able to get my valve loose even to this day. luckily it never seemed to hurt my tractor. i know that 4 wheeler had all he could do to pull me up the road though. if you are in grass or dirt while i don't highly recommend it all the time i would probably just drag it slowly back to were i could work on it. good luck

That model should have a slot or square head bolt on the left hand side of the transmission facing forward. Turn that valve counterclockwise one or two turns to release. I would not drag a tractor...put the wheels on a dollie if you  can't move the valve.

If you have a bigger tractor with a FEL lift it and carry it out of the field with it.

Probably won't help now, but here is what you can do in the future. I've moved a few of my tractors this way. Much better than the first time I moved a tractor with a Hi-Lift Farm Jack two feet at a time!

Thanks everyone I found the tow valve but it was very stuck. Fortunately I got my starter replaced while sitting in the field so I was able to drive it back to the barn. :) I'll have to work on getting the tow valve to turn in case k break down again. :)

      Gentlemen,

According to the hydrogear transmission manual, the tow valve on the ‘69 Charger 12 with the Sunstrand 90-1136 is “malfunctioning” because I am able to roll the tractor while it is closed.

To note, the parking brake pawl also seems to be broken, but I believe these issues are independent of one another.

Have any of you dealt with this issue of a malfunctioning tow valve before and can advise? I’ve got the ATF drained out and would like to address this before refilling.

As of right now, I have removed the tow valve and attached a picture of it. The O ring and nylon washer look fine to me, but maybe you see or know something different.

Hey all. I have a Electro 12 with a factory belly blade. It runs* and drives. I had used it to grade my driveway the last 6 yrs. Having moved I'm looking at my options on storing it or selling it. Frankly I have no idea what it is worth. I watched "ISaveTractors" video on 5 things to do with a new to you wheel horse/12hp kohler. (When i got it 6yrs ago) And went thru and did the adjustments and replaced the parts mentioned. It has been a good strong tractor for me until around July of this year. (2023)
*Around July it started dying after running 20-30min. I replaced the carb (Chinese Amazon purchase) with one from isavetractors web site. That seemed to help it idle smoother(the old carbs jets wouldnt adjust), but it still dies at around 20-30min.
      So I've got 2 questions.
      1. What is it worth? (As-Is) and
      2. What do I need to do to fix it?
      Thanks yall!

I was thinking about putting this brush guard on my ‘69 GT-14. So much for thinking.. I don’t really care for it..
Original thought was it would look cool & help protect that exposed fuel tank.
.  Pretty sure I’m going to abort on this project.
      Back to the drawing board..
Yes, I know, wrong hood decals for ‘69..
This hood is off a ‘70 I had.

Anyone have pics of the CORRECT steering wheel for a ‘71 GT-14?
also, is it 14” or 15”?
