stevebo-(Moderator) 8,034 #1 Posted February 18, 2015 While surfing the usual ebay I came across this sign and was the first to bid on it. I felt that I stepped up on the max bid of $310 (opening bid and reserve was $295). I was on my cell phone with less than 1 min left I was outbid and when I went to increase my max bid to $325 on the phone I made a mistake and increased it to $325,000.00 !!!!! My service was very slow and I was unable to change it. The other bidder went up to $350 so I got it for $351. That could have been a disaster for sure !!!! I am not sure if I was bidding against anyone here if so sorry. It will make a great addition to my barn.

Racinbob 10,271 #5 Posted February 19, 2015 (edited) I'll bet you were sweating bullets for a bit there. With my luck some rich guy would have been a bidder and just had to have that until it just went too far and he gave up. VinsRJ 721 #7 Posted February 19, 2015 It could have gotten a little dicy explaining that one to the wife... I don't care how much she loves you
Ken B 3,116 #8 Posted February 19, 2015 This kind of worked out for you because it sold for what they typically go for. Now, if you made this little foul up on something real pricey like an expensive car and the bidding went wild then you might have some splaining to do! Just wonderin, did you share this little story with Mrs.Bo.?
stevebo-(Moderator) 8,034 #9 Posted February 19, 2015 I actually did tell her.... not sure as to why

JC 1965 1,528 #14 Posted February 19, 2015 WOW !! What if the other person had just enough time to post one more bid after your bid and made the same mistake as you and their bid was $324,000.00. Good news is you would have won the auction. Bad news is the sign would have cost you $324,001.00 That would have been one expensive sign. Sorry Steve, That isn't really funny, Well maybe a little bit funny ?
