Crow Horse 8 #1 Posted June 17, 2014 (edited) I'm looking to make the "ride" of my B-80 a little more civilized. I'm thinking a flip up seat with springs. Any thoughts on this? Edited June 18, 2014 by Crow Horse
squonk 38,559 #2 Posted June 17, 2014 I would at least add some seat springs. I don't know what was thinking when they just plopped a seat on the fender pan and called it good.

jdleach 525 #4 Posted June 17, 2014 Agree with you Mike. And, it looks like they did to other tractors as well. According to my 1985 sales brochure, the 310-8 didn't come with seat springs. Had the flip up seat frame, but the seat was bolted directly to the frame. I get bounced around pretty good on my 312-8, so I can't imagine spend several hours on one without the springs. Crow Horse 8 #7 Posted June 21, 2014 What is best - the "U" brackets or compression springs, or both?
Tankman 3,514 #9 Posted June 21, 2014 Add springs and forget about it. Absence of springs, agreed, was to lower costs.
Crow Horse 8 #10 Posted June 21, 2014 The additional height (2 1/4" - 2 1/2") doesn't present an issue?
daveoman1966 3,562 #11 Posted June 21, 2014 no... no issue at all.
