Aaahhhh Eldon,

Your best friend and helper has always been there for you, the ole Wheel Horse with its bucket. :banghead:

And it didn't ask for breaks, complain about the weight, didn't have to furnish it Beer, lunch or even :USA: . Just a little gas and it was ready for anything :omg: and more importantly will be back tomorrow for anything else you can throw at it. Come rain or shine

Lookin good !!!!

Hi Guys, It's been a few days, so here's the latest pics.

Yesterday, got the kneewall over the original garage done after cutting out the original structure), and some other odds & ends. Today, got all the nailers up, the horizontal stud braces, and oh yeah... trusses !

We ran out of daylight, so the last 5 trusses are on the wall, and stacked upright. Tomorrow I will slide them into position and nail them down. After that the FEL will be a plywood lifter !

Trusses are up, and the fascia boards are nailed on. Also have the catwalk (storage area) nearly done.

I had a helper for a couple hours this evening, so we got most of the first row of plywood on both sides.

It's starting to look like something now, and it has interior shade....

Thanks for the comps guys !

Duff, That garage was built about 1981, long before we bought the place. The closest match I found was "Tile Red" from Lowes.

Just curious - I just redid my place with the Timberline's Cedar style and they look remarkably similar. Nice look you got there!

I had to strip off six (yes SIX) layers of old shingles from PO's to get down to the roof deck....but that's grist for another mill altogether!

If I were closer, I, too, would donate some time to your project. LOVE workin' with wood! :horseplay:

:banghead: How long did the nails have to be to hold them on?

E; Now after seeing how much room you have, when's the next roundup? :horseplay:

:omg: How long did the nails have to be to hold them on?

Jim - there was so much crap up there that the last two layers were only nailed to the preexisting layers and never actually made it all the way down to the roof deck. Made for some very interesting stripping! Thank God we don't get hurricane-force winds up here (or maybe I would have been replacing the roof soooner with less effort in stripping?)! :banghead:

The garage work is looking great Eldon. :USA: The picture of your 314 sitting in it made me think of a Wheel Horse showroom, heck add some of that epoxy floor paint with the flakes in it and that could be a WH showroom. :banghead:

Funny you mention that Doc. The siding showed up today, but that wasn't on the schedule. Me and my helper were busy putting the drip edge and felt paper on the roof. So yes, it is technically watertight. The shingles will be here tomorrow late morning, so it will be a long afternoon! Forecast is for rain moving in Thursday PM, so I want to have the roof done by then. Siding can get done between the rainshowers as time allows, or next week when it clears out.

I'll post some new pics sometime tomorrow.

Thanks guys for all your words of encouragement, and the compliments !

E.
