The steering wheel repair turned out pretty good. Craig, your tip on using a glove and water with that epoxy sure made this job easier. Thanks!

I never saw Craig’s tip until now when I scanned back through the posts, thanks for mentioning it Denny!  I have a couple patches to fill on Frank’s tank, I’lol be sure to use that method.  Fellas, I assume a latex type glove would be easiest?

That’s what I used, Kevin.

:text-yeahthat:              That wheel looks fantastic!       Did you use Sargs's suggestion of VHT Vinyl dye and Diamond Clear?              :text-coolphotos:

Right now it’s just Rustoleum rattle can, gloss on the hub and spokes and semi gloss on the plastic. I do plan on using the satin finish Diamond Clear on the plastic though. Right now I think it’s got just a little too much gloss on that part plus it’ll protect the paint.

You might have to buy this one from one of my grandsons, Craig. They've already claimed it.

A few years ago I picked up a nice hitch, my old one had a lot of pock marks from rust. I also turned a new stainless pin to mount the hitch. This morning I added grease zerks to the bushings that I had installed in the spindles and steering block.

I’m late to the comment game on this one but I know another Craig who would really like to have a shot at that thing when you’re ready to make room for something different. @dclarke

Well after starting on this project 6 years and 2 months ago I finally finished painting it today and have got the engine back in. Hopefully I can finish it up this week.

I wanted to raise the seat just a little to help keep it off of the fenders so I made a 1/4” spacer to fit under the seat then lengthened the shoulder on the carriage bolt to keep the seat from turning.

Except for installing the shift pattern decal, this long overdue project is done.

Seven years ago, during the rebuild of my RJ58 I had this CBR32 sickle cleaned up and ready for paint when I decided to trade it away. Today I got the sickle back, exactly as it was the day it left. Excited to get it painted and mounted back on this ‘58.

The RJ58 was the big hit for spectators this year at my local festivals here in Carroll County OH.
the children loved getting their pictures sitting on it, then they discovered the bicycle horn under the steering wheel. It’s always a joy even in parades. Just love showing off part of my collection every year and hearing all the stories from those that had WH in their lives at one time. Can hardly wait to get to retirement so I can get some of my other models back to their glory in working order and be able to attend other shows/festivals throughout the year. My fellow tractor enthusiasts always know when a spectacular starts asking about WH, they point in my direction. I study up on the history of the different models and always intrigue those that didn’t know much about how WH came to be. This website is one place that has helped me learn so much about the WH history and I thank you for sharing your knowledge that I am able to pass on to keep WH alive and well.

My show tractors for October Festivals.
RJ59, 1045, 657 w/sickle bar, 10HP and D200. Just love the attention and hearing the stories of grandpa or growing up had one. Always can see the joy these Horses bring to the spectators. Than telling them the WH history story along with Speedex story always intrigues them.
Than of course there is always someone that needs to get one out of the way.
Last year it was the 1045 and the PO was so excited to learn I got her running and been mowing my grass all summer. Of course I had to let him drive her around.
      This year it’s a 702 I think I getting this week.
So many were engrossed by the Sickle Bar never knowing such was available on garden tractors.
